What is old school lolita?
Lolita is a Japanese street fashion based on rococo and Victorian fashion. Old school refers to the fashion during the 1990s and early 2000s. This style focused on DIY, plain fabrics and embellishment with ruffles and lace compared to intricate prints.
I custom made the lace. Dyeing it a subtle colour due to the polyester and cotton blend.
I also thread the ribbon through myself, by hand to create custom lace.
I drafted a pattern and used a range of machine and hand stitches.
